Butter-pecan Cookies

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened (no substitutions)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup firmly-packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (can use a little more)

Recipe

  • 1 set oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2 in a bowl, cream butter with sugars, until light and fluffy.
  • 3 beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • 4 combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture; mix well.
  • 5 add in chopped pecans.
  • 6 drop dough by teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 7 bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned (don't overbake).
