Caramel Pecan Treasures

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 30 caramels, halved and flattened
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 oz)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tablespoon shortening
Recipe
- 1 in a mixing bowl cream butter and brown sugar.
- 2 beat in vanilla.
- 3 combine the flour and baking powder,gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- 4 roll into 1 inch balls.
- 5 place 2 inches apart onto baking sheet,flatten slightly.
- 6 bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- 7 remove to wire racks to cool.
- 8 place one caramel on each cookie.
- 9 melt the chocolate chips and shortening.
- 10 drizzle over the cooled cookies.
- 11 sprinkle with the pecans.
- 12 let stand until firm.
