Chocolate Chip Oaties (cookies)

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup rolled oats (quick-cook or old-fashioned)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 beat butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- 3 beat in the egg, then milk and vanilla until well blended.
- 4 add oats and mix, then add flour, cocoa and baking powder. mix until everything is well blended.
- 5 stir in chocolate.
- 6 line two baking sheets with parchment paper (or grease lightly).
- 7 scoop out dough in large gobs (about 1 1/4-1 3/8 oz each) and flatten slightly with a fork (dip fork in flour to prevent sticking).
- 8 bake for 15 minutes or until cookies are slightly risen and firm.
- 9 let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
