Coconut-almond Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup shredded coconut
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 spray an 8 x 8 square pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- 3 combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- 4 melt butter in large saucepan.
- 5 remove from heat.
- 6 stir in brown sugar.
- 7 next, beat in egg and almond extract.
- 8 mix coconut with dry ingredients and gradually add to butter-sugar mixture.
- 9 spread in pan.
- 10 bake 35 minutes or until brown.
- 11 cool 10 minutes in pan; remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
- 12 cut into 24 bars.
