Candy Cane Crisps

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, unsifted
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup peppermint candy, crushed and divided
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for rolling

Recipe

  • 1 oven 325.
  • 2 beat together butter and powdered sugar until creamy.
  • 3 mix in vanilla extract.
  • 4 add flour, oats and salt.
  • 5 combine well.
  • 6 stir in 1/4 cup crushed candy canes.
  • 7 roll rounded teaspoonfuls of the dough in the 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
  • 8 place balls about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.
  • 9 flatten with a fork in a criss-cross pattern and sprinkle cookies with about 1/4 tsp of remaining crushed candy canes.
  • 10 bake at 325 for 18-20 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are slightly brown.
  • 11 let cookies cool on the pan for about 2 minutes, and then transfer to a rack to cool.
