Candy Cane Puffs

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup peppermint candy, finely crushed
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 combine flour and salt -- set aside.
  • 2 cream butter and sugar, beat in egg and extracts.
  • 3 mix into flour mixture using low speed.
  • 4 wrap dough in plastic wrap, refrigerate for one hour.
  • 5 shape dough into walnut sized balls --
  • 6 place on lightly greased baking sheet --
  • 7 bake at 375* for 10-12 minutes.
  • 8 cool.
  • 9 melt chocolate in a double boiler.dip cooled cookies into melted chocolate.
  • 10 roll in crushed peppermint candy.
  • 11 set on waxed paper.until hardened.
