Chocolate Pecan Slice

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 100 g butter
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 100 g butter
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup golden syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan nuts
  • 50 -100 g dark chocolate
  • 1/4 cup butter

Recipe

  • 1 base:.
  • 2 cream butter & sugar together.
  • 3 sift together the flour and cocoa and add to creamed mixture.
  • 4 press into a baking paper lined sponge roll/slice tin.
  • 5 bake at 170'c for 10 minutes.
  • 6 filling:.
  • 7 bring all ingredients, except the nuts, to the boil in a pot.
  • 8 simmer for at least 10 minutes (the longer it cooks, the firmer it sets).
  • 9 pour over cooked base.
  • 10 cover with the pecan nuts.
  • 11 topping:.
  • 12 melt together the chocolate and butter.
  • 13 spread over the nuts.
  • 14 slice when cooled.
