Cranberry Squares

Ingredients
- 2 (16 ounce) cans whole berry cranberry sauce
- 2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 1/4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 3/4 cup walnuts or 3/4 cup pecans, chopped
Recipe
- 1 in a large bowl, stir together the cranberry sauce, orange-juice concentrate. cinnamon and nutmeg;set aside.
- 2 in a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add vanilla.
- 3 add flour, baking powder and salt.
- 4 mix until well combined, then add oats (mixture will be very thick).
- 5 preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- 6 pat half the dough into the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- 7 spoon the cranberry mixture evenly over the dough.
- 8 crumble the remaining half of the dough over the cranberry mixture, to cover; sprinkle nuts on top.
- 9 bake for 30 minutes.
