Crinkle-top Chocolate Cookies

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 42
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

Recipe

  • 1 melt 1 cup chocolate chips in microwave.
  • 2 stir until smooth and set aside.
  • 3 beat butter and sugar in a small mixing bowl, until crumbly. (about 2 min.).
  • 4 add egg whites and vanilla and beat well.
  • 5 stir in melted chocolate.
  • 6 combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • 7 gradually add to butter mixture alternately with water.
  • 8 stir in remaining chocolate chips.
  • 9 cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • 10 shape dough into 1 inch balls.
  • 11 roll in confectioners sugar.
  • 12 place 2 inches apart on baking sheets coated with nonstick spray.
  • 13 bake at 350 degrees for 10-20 minutes.
  • 14 place on wire racks to cool.
