Bride's Biscuits

Ingredients
- 5 cups flour
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 package dry yeast
- 5 tablespoons warm water
Recipe
- 1 sift dry ingredients, then cut in shortening.
- 2 add buttermilk.
- 3 dissolve yeast in warm water and add to the mixture.
- 4 knead lightly.
- 5 roll out, cut with biscuit cutter and bake on greased cookie sheet at 450*f for 10 to 12 minutes.
- 6 dough may be stored in the refrigerator, pinching off as many as is needed each time, or may be cut then frozen.
