Bride's Biscuits

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 5 cups flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 5 tablespoons warm water

Recipe

  • 1 sift dry ingredients, then cut in shortening.
  • 2 add buttermilk.
  • 3 dissolve yeast in warm water and add to the mixture.
  • 4 knead lightly.
  • 5 roll out, cut with biscuit cutter and bake on greased cookie sheet at 450*f for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • 6 dough may be stored in the refrigerator, pinching off as many as is needed each time, or may be cut then frozen.
