Biscotti Regina (sesame Cookies)

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups sesame seeds
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 lb unsalted butter, cut into pieces and softened
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven 375°f; butter and flour two large baking sheets.
  • 2 pour milk into a shallow bowl. spread sesame seeds on a piece of wax paper. set aside.
  • 3 in the large bowl of an electric mixer, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. on low speed, beat in the butter a little at a time.
  • 4 in a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, vanilla, and orange zest. stir the egg mixture into the dry ingredients until well blended.
  • 5 pinch off a piece of dough the size of a golf ball and shape into a log 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch thick.
  • 6 dip the log in the milk, then roll it in the sesame seeds. place on a prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly. continue with the remaining dough, placing cookies about 1 inch apart.
  • 7 bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until well browned. let cool on the baking sheets for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely. store in airtight container.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon anise extract or 1 tablespoon anise oil

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 375 degrees f (190 degrees c). grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
  • 2 in a medium bowl, beat together the oil, eggs, sugar and anise flavoring until well blended.
  • 3 combine the flour and baking powder, stir into the egg mixture to form a heavy dough. divide dough into two pieces. form each piece into a roll as long as your cookie sheet. place roll onto the prepared cookie sheet, and press down to 1/2 inch thickness.
  • 4 bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown.
  • 5 remove from the baking sheet to cool on a wire rack.
  • 6 when the cookies are cool enough to handle, slice each one crosswise into 1/2 inch slices. place the slices cut side up back onto the baking sheet. bake for an additional 6 to 10 minutes on each side. slices should be lightly toasted.

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent dinner rolls (can use reduced fat)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 6 ounces sliced smoked turkey breast
  • 6 ounces sliced smoked ham
  • 6 ounces sliced muenster cheese
  • 1/2 cup seedless raspberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon sesame (for topping) or 1 tablespoon poppy seed (for topping)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees f. line 2 standard cookie sheets (or jelly roll pans) with parchment paper for easy clean-up. separate crescent roll dough into 4 long rectangles (2 rectangles per package) and lay rectangles onto cookie sheets (or jelly roll pans) so there are 2 rectangles of dough per baking sheet and edges/sides are not touching. brush tops of rectangles with melted butter and honey, reserving approximately 1 tablespoon of each. bake rectangles for 8 minutes, then remove from oven and cool for 15 minutes. carefully loosen partially-baked rectangles from baking sheets and get ready to layer sandwich.
  • 2 using a 10×15′ baking sheet (lined with parchment paper or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray for easy clean-up), place 1 partially-baked rectangle (buttered & honeyed side up) and top with sliced turkey. top turkey with 2nd rectangle and layer with sliced ham and muenster cheese. top ham & muenster with 3rd rectangle and layer evenly with raspberry jam. top jam with 4th and final rectangle, brushing top of dough with reserved butter & honey and sprinkling with sesame or poppy seeds as desired. bake sandwich at 375 degrees f for 10-15 minutes, depending on the accuracy of your oven. crust should appear lightly browned on top and cheese should be melted. remove from oven, allow to cool at least 5 minutes, then slice into 6-8 servings.

Chocolate Almond Bars

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups almonds, toasted and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon shortening

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees. mix together flour and sugar; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. press into a 9 x 13 baking pan. bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes; until lightly browned. in a medium saucepan, melt chocolate chips with the sweetened condensed milk. remove from heat when chocolate is completely melted. allow mixture to cool slightly before beating in egg. add in almond extract and chopped almonds. put into the prepared crust. bake for 25 minutes; until bars are set. allow to cool. melt shortening and ½ cup chocolate chips. drizzle this mixture over the bars. put bars into the refrigerator to chill for 10 minutes and then cut.

Christmas Tree Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • water
  • tinted cake decorating gel
  • holiday candy sprinkles
  • colored sugar sprinkle, etc

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter, add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  • 2 add vanilla and lemon juice.
  • 3 add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • 4 sift flour, baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  • 5 chill, then roll dough to about 1/8 inch or thicker.
  • 6 cut into various sized christmas trees.

  • 1 place oreo cookies, nesquik, ice cream, and milk in a blendor.
  • 2 blend until smooth.

  • 2 cream together sugar and butter.
  • 3 add eggs which have been slightly beaten.
  • 4 add salt and flour.
  • 5 add vanilla.
  • 6 mix well.
  • 7 form into fancy shapes by using a cookie press.
  • 8 place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 9 bake 8 to 10 minutes.
