Chocolate Chip Cookies

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
  • 2 cream together shortening and butter.
  • 3 add sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  • 4 blend in flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • 5 stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  • 6 drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2-inches apart, onto baking sheet.
  • 7 bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown.
  • 8 do not over bake!
  • 9 cool slightly before removing to wire cooling rack.
  • 10 to keep cookies soft, store in an airtight container with a slice of bread!
