Cookies N Cream Cake

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 35 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 2 1/4 cups cake flour, sifted
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 egg whites
  • 10 oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1 cup crisco
  • 5 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • crushed oreo cookies

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375°f and grease and flour 2 9-inch layer pans.
  • 2 sift flour; resift flour with baking powder and salt and set aside.
  • 3 cream together crisco and sugar until fluffy.
  • 4 divide flour into 3 sections and add to cake batter, alternating with milk.
  • 5 add vanilla.
  • 6 in separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
  • 7 fold egg whites into cake batter.
  • 8 fold crushed oreos into cake batter.
  • 9 pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  • 10 cool in pans for 10 minutes, remove, and cool completely on wire wracks.
  • 11 frosting: beat crisco until smooth.
  • 12 gradually add powdered sugar, alternating with milk.
  • 13 add vanilla.
  • 14 add any additional milk until desired consistency is met.
  • 15 frost cake and sprinkle with crushed oreos.
