Cream Puffs

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup whipping cream, whipped
  • icing sugar

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium saucepan combine margarine, water and salt.
  • 2 bring to a boil.
  • 3 add flour all at once, stirring vigorously.
  • 4 cook and stir till mixture forms a ball that doesn't separate.
  • 5 remove from heat.
  • 6 cool 10 minutes.
  • 7 add eggs, one at a time, beating with a wooden spoon after each addition until smooth.
  • 8 drop batter by heaping tablespoons, 3 inches apart, onto a greased cookie sheet.
  • 9 bake at 400 f for 30-35 minutes, or until golden.
  • 10 cool on a wire rack.
  • 11 slice puffs in half and remove any soft dough inside.
  • 12 fill with whipped cream.
  • 13 replace tops.
  • 14 lightly sift icing sugar over tops.
