Chewy Brownie Cookies

Ingredients

• 2/3 cup shortening
• 1 1/2 cups lightly packed brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon water
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 eggs
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (12oz pkg)

Recipe

• 1 heat oven to 350 degrees.
• 2 combine shortening, brown sugar, water and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.
• 3 beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. beat eggs into creamed mixture.
• 4 combine flour, cocoa and baking soda and then mix into the creamed mixture. beat at low speed until all is blended inches.
• 5 stir in chocolate chipits.
• 6 drop by the spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
• 7 cook for about 9-11 minutes depending on how chewy you like your cookies.
