Chocolate Filled Bonbons

Total Time: 22 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 48
  • 3/4 cup lard
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 3 -4 dozen chocolate rosettes (rosebuds)

Recipe

  • 1 cream lard, beat in sugar.
  • 2 add eggs, and flavourings.
  • 3 mix dry ingredients and add.
  • 4 form into 1 inch balls.
  • 5 press each ball around a chocolate rosebud.
  • 6 bake 12 mins on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350f.
