Cran-raspberry Streusel Bars

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 45 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened and cut into bits
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2/3 cup raspberry preserves
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup unsalted mixed nuts (chopped)
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 ounces chocolate, melted

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°.
  • 2 butter a 7- by 11-in. pan.
  • 3 in a food processor, whirl flour, oats, and sugar 10 seconds.
  • 4 add 1 cup butter; whirl until mixture forms a ball.
  • 5 set aside 1/2 cup of mixture.
  • 6 whirl in yolks.
  • 7 press yolk mixture into pan.
  • 8 spread with preserves.
  • 9 sprinkle on cranberries, nuts, and chocolate chips, then press into dough.
  • 10 form pea-size crumbs with reserved dough mixture; sprinkle over top.
  • 11 bake at 350° until topping is pale gold, 45 minutes.
  • 12 cool on a rack; drizzle with melted chocolate.
  • 13 cut into 24 bars.
