Cinnamon Sugar Cookies

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • colored crystal sugar (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugars and oil. add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. add dry ingredients, mixing to form nice dough. if dough is soft (like in warm weather), cover and refrigerate until chilled for easier handling.
  • 2 roll into one inch balls or use small cookie scoop. place on greased cookie sheets; flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. sprinkle with colored sugar, if desired.
  • 3 bake at 375 degrees farenheit for 10-12 minutes. remove to wire racks to cool. makes about 8 dozen.

Cinnamon Sugar Crinkles

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup coarse sugar

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl, beat the butter with the brown sugar until fluffy, then beat in the egg, molasses and vanilla.
  • 2 whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and stir into the butter mixture.
  • 3 refrigerate the dough for 20 minutes.
  • 4 roll by 1 tablespoon into balls.
  • 5 roll in the coarse sugar.
  • 6 place, 1-1/2" apart, on a parchment-lined baking sheet and flatten slightly.
  • 7 bake in a 350 degree f oven until puffed and crackly, about 9 minutes.
  • 8 let cool on the pan on a rack for 5 minutes.
  • 9 transfer to a rack and let cool completely.

Crackle-top Molasses Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 -2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/3 cup sugar, about

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°.
  • 2 in a large bowl, combine oil and 1 cup sugar.

  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 300*f.
  • 2 in a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  • 3 in a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; mix well with a wire whisk and set aside.
  • 4 in a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, blend the sugars.
  • 5 add the butter and mix to form a grainy paste.

  • 1 lb cracklings, ground
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 pint sour cream
  • 1/2 cup your favorite wine (i use chardonnay)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup cream

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 300°f.
  • 2 in large bowl mix together cracklings, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • 3 in a separate bowl whisk together the eggs, sour cream, and wine.
  • 4 make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour the egg mixture into it.
  • 5 gradually combined the two mixtures.
  • 6 on a flour surface roll dough to 3/4 inch thickness and cut with a 2 1/2-3 inch cookie cutter.
  • 7 place biscuit rounds on a greased cookie sheet.
  • 8 in a small bowl whisk together the egg yolk and cream.
  • 9 brush the tops of biscuits with cream mixture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup sanding sugar

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350 degrees. adjust one rack in the center of the oven.
  • 2 combine butter and sugar and beat on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  • 3 scrape down sides and bottom of bowl.
  • 4 add egg yolks, vanilla, salt and beat until smooth.

  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
  • powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 allow cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter to soften, then blend together.
  • 2 stir in egg yolk and flour, mix well.

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2/3 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon orange peel, grated

  • 1 cup dried apricot, finely chopped

  • 2 dip chicken into egg whites and then coat with flour mixture.
  • 3 brown in melted butter/margarine.

Chewy Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chunks or 1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 375. combine flour, baking powder and baking soda in medium bowl. set aside.
  • 2 combine butter, sugar and brown sugar in large bowl. beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. add eggs and vanilla. continue beating, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. reduce speed to low. beat, gradually adding flour mixture, until well mixed. stir in chocolate chunks.

Basic Meringues With Variations Or A Large Pavlova

Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites, use eggs at room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup caster sugar (superfine sugar)
  • 2 teaspoons cornflour (cornstarch)
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 100°c - 120°c do not use the oven fan if possible.
  • 2 beat the four egg whites with the cream of tartar using an electric mixer. bring to 'soft peak' stage.
  • 3 add 1/3 of the sugar and continue to beat to 'firm peak' stage- approx another 3 minutes. then add the remaining sugar one spoon at a time whilst continuing to beat.
  • 4 continue beating until the mixture is shiny and the sugar has totally dissolved. feel the meringue mix with your fingertips and you should not be able to feel any gritty sugar. continue to beat until the sugar has dissolved, if required.
  • 5 sift the cornflour over the meringue and add the vinegar. fold in gently.
  • 6 use a spoon or pipe the mixture to form meringues onto a cookie tray lined with baking paper.
  • 7 bake approx 60 minutes, or until firm and dry. during cooking reduce the oven temperature if the meringues are browning rather than drying out. when cooked, turn the oven off and leave the oven door slightly ajar. allow the meringues to cool in the oven for about an hour, or leave overnight.
  • 8 store in an airtight container. they should keep at least a few days.

  • 10 flavoured meringues-add some vanilla or other essence of your choice whilst folding in the cornflour.
  • 11 coloured meringues- add some food colouring of your choice and beat through before folding in the cornflour.
  • 12 chocolate meringues- sift in 2 tablespoons of dutch cocoa with the cornflour. you can also add ground or finely chopped nuts if desired.
  • 13 coconut meringues- lightly fold through 1/2 cup of shredded or dessicated coconut with the cornflour.
  • 14 almond meringues- fold through 1/2 cup ground almonds with the cornflour. you can also add some almond essence if desired.
  • 15 lime or lemon meringues- fold through finely zested lime or lemon zest with the cornflour. a teaspoon of juice can be used instead of/substitute for the vinegar.
  • 16 sprinkled meringues- sprinkle meringues with finely chopped nuts or 100's and thousands prior to baking.
  • 17 for a large pavlova- draw a 22-25 cm (9-10 inch) circle on the baking paper. turn paper over and place on a large cookie sheet/tray. use the entire mixture to pile onto the circle. smooth over the surface and bake for 90 minutes. turn the oven off and leave the pavlova in the closed oven for another hour. after an hour open the oven door and leave the pavlova in the oven to cool. serve topped with whipped cream or vanilla yogurt. top with some fruit or grated chocolate. can also be served with lemon butter/curd instead of cream.
  • 18 small pavlovas/individual pavlovas- make as for large pavlova but use 6-8 spoonfuls of meringue per pavlova. pile the meringue as high as possible. bake for about 45 minutes.

Chewy Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter flavor shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bread flour or 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt (i use fine ground sea salt)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 10 ounces creme de menthe baking chips (andes brand)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375°.
  • 2 line 3 cookie sheets with parchment paper for no clean-up (or use plain ungreased cookie sheets) and set aside.
  • 3 in large bowl or mixer, cream together shortening and both sugars.
  • 4 add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each.
  • 5 add vanilla and mix well.
  • 6 in separate bowl sift together all the flour, salt and baking soda. add to creamed mixture and mix until combined.

  • 8 using a 1-1/2 inch cookie scoop or a tablespoon to drop cookies onto parchment paper lined sheets.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pecans
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 beat water and egg together until foamy.
  • 2 put pecans in the mixture and coat well by stirring.
  • 3 mix together sugars, salt and cinnamon.
  • 4 put the pecans in the sugar and cinnamon mixture and stir until well coated.
  • 5 place sugar coated pecans on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 375* for 35-45 minutes.
  • 6 stir pecans every 10-15 minutes.

Craisin Cole Slaw

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) bag shredded coleslaw mix
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 3 ounces toasted slivered almonds
  • 1/4-1/2 cup dried cranberries (craisins)

Recipe

  • 1 put cole slaw mix into bowl.
  • 2 mix together the oil, vinegar, sugar, salt & pepper.
  • 3 pour over cole slaw mix.
  • 4 toast almonds on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 5 minutes.
  • 5 put almonds and craisins into slaw mix and toss.

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3 eggs, divided
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup nuts, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 cream sugars and shortening together.
  • 2 add eggs, one at time.
  • 3 add lemon juice and vanilla.

Ingredients

  • 8 rhodes texas frozen dough rolls
  • 2 tablespoons butter, soft
  • 1 cup sliced apple
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 egg , beaten
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soft butter
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 allow rolls to warm to room temperature. on a sprayed or floured surface, roll dough into a 12 x 18-inch rectangle. spread butter on entire surface.
  • 2 place apple slices lengthwise down center third of dough. sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. spoon cranberry sauce over cinnamon.
  • 3 make cuts from filling to dough edges at about 2-inch intervals. alternating sides, fold strips at an angle across filling. fold bottom edge towards filling and finish by stretching last strip and tucking under bottom end. using both hands, lift onto a cookie sheet coated with non-stick cooking spray.
  • 4 brush with egg . bake 25 - 30 minutes in a 350°f oven. place on rack and allow it to cool slightly before slicing. glaze with thin icing, if desired.

Chewy Make Ahead Chocolate Chip Cookies

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, unsalted and softened (1/2 brick)
  • 3/4 cup sugar (i use splenda, and usually slightly less sugar)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (again, splenda and about half)

  • 8 ounces almond paste (canned)
  • 1 cup sugar (superfine)
  • 2 large egg whites
  • extra sugar, for dusting cookie

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees f.
  • 2 line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • 3 break the almond paste into small pieces and place in bowl of electric mixer along with the sugar.
  • 4 mix on low speed until very fine.
  • 5 add the egg whites in three additions, mix well after each addition.
  • 6 continue mixing the dough until very smooth, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • 7 place a tablespoon of dough on the cookie sheet (space them 1 inch apart).
  • 8 lightly press the top of each cookie to smooth out the surface.
  • 9 sprinkle a little sugar on top of each cookie.
  • 10 bake for 15 minutes, or until the cookies have risen, are a deep golden color and have tiny cracks.

  • 1 pop the popcorn kernels and put into a greased large bowl.
  • 2 melt butter on medium heat in a medium size saucepan.

Chocolate Filled Almond Puffs 1968 (belgium)

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 large egg whites, room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup granulated superfine sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup confectioners powdered sugar
  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped (i use bittersweet)
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream (whipping cream)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Recipe

  • 1 line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • 2 place the sliced almonds onto a baking sheet and toast in a 325 degree oven for 7 minutes, and cool.
  • 3 place the toasted almonds with the two tablespoons of sugar into a food processor and grind to a fine meal.
  • 4 in the bowl of an electric mixer and with the ballon whisk, beat the egg whites until frothy.
  • 5 add in the cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
  • 6 gradually add in the superfine sugar beating until stiff and glossy.
  • 7 beat in the almond extract.
  • 8 sift the powdered sugar over the glossy whites and using a hand held whisk fold into the beaten stiff whites.
  • 9 now fold in the cooled ground almonds.
  • 10 drop by tablespoon or using a plastic tip cut bag, pipe 1 3/4 inch high mounds onto your baking parchment sheets. dont overcrowd on sheet. should be able to get 15 on each sheet.
  • 11 now -- let sit for 15 minutes out at room temperature.
  • 12 now -- dip your index finger into some powdered sugar and make a depression into the centre of each cookie about 1/2 inch wide.
  • 13 now -- let sit for a drying time of one hour on the counter.
  • 14 preheat oven to 200 degrees f.
  • 15 bake after the drying time for one hour.
  • 16 turn off oven and now leave in closed oven for one hour more.
  • 17 remove from oven to a wire rack and cool completely.
  • 18 place chopped chocolate in a bowl, with the butter.
  • 19 heat the cream in a saucepot and add to the chocolate stirring until all melted and smooth. cover with plastic and cool until thickened, usually about 15 minutes or so.
  • 20 now pipe the chocolate into the depressions of each meringue.
  • 21 store chocolate filled cookies in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 7 days.

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons egg whites, at room temperature (from 1 large egg)

  • 3/4 cup unsifted all-purpose flour

Recipe

  • 1 adjust rack to lower third of oven; preheat oven to 375°.
  • 2 unwrap one end of a chilled stick of unsalted butter and rub it over 2 large cool teflon-coated baking sheets to apply a very thin film of fat.
  • 3 in the large bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter on medium speed until smooth, about 45 seconds.
  • 4 beat in the sugar until fluffy.
  • 5 beat in the whole egg, blending thoroughly, then add the egg .
  • 6 using a rubber spatula, scrape down the sides of the bowl.

Burns Night Raspberry Whisky Cream Pots

  • 4 shortbread cookies
  • 4 -6 teaspoons raspberry jam
  • 4 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons creme fraiche
  • 2 tablespoons scotch whisky
  • 2 tablespoons heather honey
  • frozen raspberries, about 6 to 8 per pot
  • 2 shortbread cookies, broken into quarters

Recipe

  • 1 crumble the first 4 shortbread biscuits into smallish crumbs and sprinkle the crumbs into the bottom of a glass bowl.
  • 2 spoon the warmed jam over the shortbread crumbs.
  • 3 mix the cream cheese, crème fraiche, whisky and heather honey together, beating well to make a smooth cream.

  • 1 (16 ounce) bag hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips (this is my favorite but you can use any kind of chocolate you want, even and carob)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2-2 sleeves of salt top saltine crackers

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 take a cookie sheet with raised edges and cover it with foil.
  • 3 place the crackers on the cookie sheet salt side down until it's covered.
  • 4 heat butter and sugar together until the sugar is well dissolved into the butter.
  • 5 pour the butter mixture evenly over the crackers and place in oven for five minutes.
  • 6 remove the cookie sheet from the oven and pour the chocolate chips evenly over the butter mixture and crackers.
  • 7 place back in oven for an additional five minutes.
  • 8 remove from oven and allow to cool completely and then freeze for a minimum of two hours.
  • 9 remove from freezer and break apart.
  • 10 must be kept frozen if not being actively consumed.

  • 1 heat oven to 350 degrees f.

  • 3 in a large mixer bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until well blended.
  • 4 add eggs and blend thoroughly.

  • 1 large egg

  • 3 dozen caramels, unwrapped (room temperature)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375.
  • 2 unwrap caramels.
  • 3 combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a medium bowl, and set aside.
  • 4 combine shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla in large bowl, and beat at medium speed until creamy.
  • 5 stir in flour mixture until just blended.
  • 6 stir in nuts.
  • 7 drop by rounded tablespoon onto baking sheet 2" apart.
  • 8 place a caramel in the center of each (do not press down).
  • 9 bake 10-12 minutes, or until light brown around edges, and caramel is completely melted.
  • 10 transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Chalupas

  • vegetable oil
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • 6 cups refried beans
  • 1/2 lb cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 3 cups lettuce, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 in a small skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil.
  • 2 test the oil for proper temperature by putting in a small piece of tortilla.i usually heat to around 375.
  • 3 when the oil reaches the temperature where it immediately begins to bubble frantically over the tortilla as soon as it is put in the oil and the tortilla piece becomes crisp quite quickly, you are ready to cook the chalupa shells.
  • 4 fry tortillas completely flat on both sides until very crisp. drain and keep warm on a newspaper covered cookie sheet in a warm oven.
  • 5 spread about 1/4 inch thick layer of refried beans on each fried tortilla. top with a generous amount of grated sharp cheddar cheese and about 1 t chopped onion.
  • 6 place assembled chalupas on a cookie sheet and brown under broiler until cheese melts. watch them carefully under the broiler, they can burn quite quickly.
  • 7 top with shredded lettuce and tomato and serve.

Chocolate Espresso Power Bars

  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, lightly toasted
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons organic decaf espresso, finely ground
  • 10 large medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 10 drops stevia
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar

Recipe

  • 1 blend pecans, cocoa and espresso in food processor until finely ground.
  • 2 add pitted dates and process until blended into dry ingredients.
  • 3 process in vanilla, stevia and agave until well combined.
  • 4 press mixture into an 8x8 inch pyrex dish, add a little water if your batter is crumbly when handling.
  • 5 freeze for 2 hours, then cut into squares.

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 cream shortening, butter and sugar, add eggs and beat, using a hand held mixer.
  • 2 add melted chocolate, then add in thirds the dry ingredients, milk and flavoring.
  • 3 drop spoonfuls (i use a regular spoon from the utensil drawer) of batter on cookie sheet and bake at 400 for 8 - 10 minutes.
  • 4 when cookies have cooled, start making the powdered sugar frosting.
  • 5 begin with powdered sugar, adding about 1 tbl of milk at a time, until it has a consistency of a thin batter.
  • 6 frost cookies, let the frosting harden (if you can wait that long), and enjoy.

Di's Clog Your Artery Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1 loaf sour dough french breadstick
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 2 cups whole whipping cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander
  • cracked pepper (a couple of good turns of the pepper grinder)
  • fresh parsley, chopped (to garnish)
  • additional grated parmesan cheese, if required

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees f or 190 c or british gas mark 5.
  • 2 dice all the garlic very finely.
  • 3 in a medium sauce pan, melt a quarter of butter so you are left with a 1/4 cup remaining of the original 1/2 cup of butter, then add the garlic to the melting butter and saute until garlic is golden.
  • 4 add remaining butter to sauce pan until all is melted.
  • 5 slice the french bread lengthwise creating two halves, then cut 3" thick slices across each half, but do not cut all the way through yet.
  • 6 place the two halves of french bread next to each other on a cookie sheet covered with cooking foil.
  • 7 next, slowly and evenly pour the garlic and butter over each half of the french bread.
  • 8 let the garlic butter melt into the bread.
  • 9 set sauce pan aside but do not clean it yet.
  • 10 place the two lenghtwise halves of the french bread back together to form one bread stick.
  • 11 bake uncovered until the outside is slightly crispy and the inside is very warm.
  • 12 while bread is heating, pour the whipping cream into the buttery sauce pan, add the freshly grated parmesan cheese and the rest of the spices.
  • 13 stir slowly for a while until sauce is thick and rich and most of the parmesan cheese has melted into the sauce.
  • 14 this may take 15 minutes or so.
  • 15 note: you can add more cheese to help thicken the cream at any time.
  • 16 when bread is warm and sauce is ready, open the bread back up, place in a serving dish and pour the sauce all over it.
  • 17 this may need two people to get the sauce into the cracks of the slices: one to pour and the other uses two forks to open it up.
  • 18 but choose the second person carefully.
  • 19 you don't want someone who can't control their drools.
  • 20 the cream should be all over the bread and the serving dish.
  • 21 you will need a knife and spatula to serve your artery bread and be ready to wipe the brow of your guests, they will be in heaven.

Crackerjack Cookies

Crackers Just Like Saltines - Homemade

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • salt

Recipe

  • 1 mix flour, baking powder,& shortening and then add milk; blend well.
  • 2 form a ball with the dough and divide into 4 sections.
  • 3 roll 1 section out very thin (about 1/8 to 3/16-inches) -- making sure it is rolled out evenly -- and cut with a cookie cutter (you can use all shapes!) or a pastry wheel with the crinkled edges, and repeat with other sections.
  • 4 place on an ungreased cookie sheet& prick the dough with a fork several times and sprinkle with salt.
  • 5 bake at 375 for 12-20 minutes until golden brown, but be careful not to burn!

Cracker Cookies

Devils Food Drop Cookies (with Cream Cheese Frosting)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 unsweetened chocolate square
  • 2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • 2 beat in egg and vanilla.
  • 3 stir in melted chocolate.
  • 4 sift dry ingredients and add to chocolate mixture alternately with sour cream. mix well.

  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing on top of biscuits)

Recipe

  • 1 mix dough until coarse and roll into a rectangle.
  • 2 brush with butter and sprinkle with filling ingredients.
  • 3 roll up and slice.
  • 4 bake at 475 degrees for 15 minute serve warm.
