Always Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 large eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips (i use ghirardelli brand)
Recipe
- 1 sift dry ingredients together and set aside.
- 2 cream shortening, butter, and sugars together, then eggs and vanilla extract.
- 3 slowly blend in dry ingredients, about a third of the total amount at a time.
- 4 stir in chocolate chips.
- 5 drop by large tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet, leaving at least 2 inches between to allow cookies to spread.
- 6 bake at 375°f for 11-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
- 7 makes 2-3 dozen cookies depending on size.
