Always Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (i use ghirardelli brand)

Recipe

  • 1 sift dry ingredients together and set aside.
  • 2 cream shortening, butter, and sugars together, then eggs and vanilla extract.
  • 3 slowly blend in dry ingredients, about a third of the total amount at a time.
  • 4 stir in chocolate chips.
  • 5 drop by large tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet, leaving at least 2 inches between to allow cookies to spread.
  • 6 bake at 375°f for 11-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • 7 makes 2-3 dozen cookies depending on size.
