Dark Chocolate Shortbread

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soft butter (no substitutions)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 ounces chocolate, melted

Recipe

  • 1 mix sugar and butter. cream well.
  • 2 add vanilla.
  • 3 mix dry ingredients.
  • 4 add gradually to creamed mixture.
  • 5 knead well.
  • 6 shape into two 9 inch logs.
  • 7 cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate from one to 24 hours.
  • 8 preheat overn 350f.
  • 9 slice into 1/4 inch slices and bake on parchment paper lined cookie sheets for 20 minutes.
  • 10 drizzle tops with melted chocolate while still warm.
