Danish Spice Bars

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 40 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 40
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon clove
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 oven 350* grease 15x10" pan.
  • 2 melt marg, remove from heat.
  • 3 add sugar and beat until smooth.
  • 4 add sour cream, vanilla and egg.
  • 5 beat smooth.
  • 6 add rest ingredients, stirring in dates and nuts.
  • 7 spread on baking sheet.
  • 8 bake for 30 minutes.
  • 9 cool on rack and cut into diamond shapes.
