Chocolate Chip Cookies

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups nuts, coarsely chopped
  • 24 ounces chocolate chips (4 cups)

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 375.
  • 2 beat butter, sugars, vanilla, and eggs in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon.
  • 3 stir in flour, baking soda, and salt (dough will be stiff).
  • 4 stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
  • 5 drop dough by level 1/4 cupfuls or #16 cookie/ice cream scoop about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 6 flatten slightly with fork.
  • 7 bake 13 to 15 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft).
  • 8 cool 1 to 2 minutes and remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 cups flour

  • 1 preheat oven to 375. combine dry ingredients and set aside.
  • 2 cream together shortening and sugar until fluffy. add the eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. mix until combined. add dry ingredients until blended. stir in chips. drop by teaspoons onto baking sheet. (i use a #50 scoop) bake 8-10 minutes.

  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 1/4 cups bananas, mashed (3 to 4 medium)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups oatmeal, uncooked (either old-fashioned or quick oats)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins or 1/2 cup sultana

  • 1 preheat oven to 350f and grease cookie sheets.
  • 2 beat brown sugar and oil together until blended; stir in bananas and salt.
  • 3 gradually beat in oats; stir in walnuts and raisins.

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup mashed ripe banana (about 2 bananas)
  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Recipe

  • 1 mix butter or margarine, sugar and brown sugar in a bowl until well combined.
  • 2 add the bananas, egg , and the vanilla and beat until it is blended.
  • 3 there will still be some banana lumps, that is ok.
  • 4 mix oats, flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl.
  • 5 add the banana mixture to this bowl and stir by hand until almost combined.
  • 6 then add chocolate chips and mix until just blended.
  • 7 drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
  • 8 bake about 12-14 minutes at 350 until cookies are just set and edges are golden brown.
  • 9 cool on a wire rack.

Black Forest Crinkle Cookies

Bacon-wrapped Asparagus

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh asparagus
  • 8 -10 slices bacon

Recipe

  • 1 wash and trim asparagus spears.
  • 2 cut bacon strips in half crosswise.
  • 3 wrap one-half strip bacon around each asparagus spear, leaving tip and end exposed.
  • 4 lay on a cookie sheet with sides.
  • 5 bake in a preheated 400 degree fahrenheit oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until bacon is cooked.
  • 6 serve warm or at room temperature.
  • 7 **note: you may want to try my baked bacon baked bacon (oven fried bacon) for 10 minutes, to avoid over cooking asparagus.

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate pieces or 1 (12 ounce) package miniature candy-coated semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts or 1 1/2 cups pecans or 1 1/2 cups hazelnuts or 1 1/2 cups filberts

  • 1 in a large mixing bowl beat shortening and butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds.
  • 2 add brown sugar, granulated sugar, and baking soda. beat until mixture is combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.
  • 3 beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
  • 4 beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer. stir in any remaining flour. stir in chocolate pieces and, if desired, nuts.

  • 3/4 cup crisco butter shortening (or 3/4 stick crisco butter shortening sticks)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecan pieces (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 375ºf.
  • 2 combine brown sugar, shortening, milk and vanilla in large bowl. beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. beat in egg. combine flour, salt and baking soda. mix into shortening mixture until just blended. stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • 3 drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls 3-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet.
  • 4 bake 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies (they will look light and moist), or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. do not overbake. cool 2 minutes on baking sheet on a cooling rack. remove cookies to rack to cool completely.

  • 2 large egg yolks, beaten

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  • 1 cup butter (brought to room temperature)
  • 2 large eggs (brought to room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (i like mexican vanilla, more of a pure taste)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (normally 1- 16 oz. bag)

Recipe

  • 1 pre-heat oven to 375.
  • 2 in a large bowl, cream butter and then add sugars and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  • 3 in another large bowl add together flour, salt and baking sode and combine.
  • 4 add eggs to butter bowl and mix until combine. do not over mix.
  • 5 gradually add flour mix to butter bowl, about 3/4 of a cup at a time. do not over mix, mix until just combined.

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, well packed

  • 1/2 vanilla bean

  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chunks (either high quality milk or dark chocolate)
  • 1 cup grated chocolate (semi-sweet or other)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°.
  • 2 in a medium sized mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with the sugars and corn syrup. beat at medium-high speed for 3 to 4 minutes until the butter is light and fluffy and much of the granular sugar is dissolved into the butter. add the egg and the scrapings from the inside of the ½ vanilla bean.
  • 3 in another mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt.
  • 4 reduce your mixer speed to medium and combine the dry ingredients into the liquid. only mix enough to fully combine the ingredients. over mixing toughens the cookie up.
  • 5 using a spatula fold the chocolate chunks and shavings into the dough.
  • 6 scoop mounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. bake for 8-9 minutes. actual baking time depends on the size of the cookie; 2 inch cookies are about 8 minutes, very large 3-4 inch cookies are more like 10-11 minutes.
  • 7 remove from oven and allow them to cool for 1 minute on the sheets before removing to a wire rack.

  • 2 sift together the flour and salt. set aside.
  • 3 in a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown and granulated sugars. beat in the eggs. combine the baking soda and hot water and add to the creamed mixture. stir in the flour mixture. then stir in the chocolate chips, nuts, and vanilla.
  • 4 drop the dough by the teaspoon onto the baking sheets about 1 inch apart.
  • 5 bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the cookies are golden.
  • 6 cool on a wire rack.

Crescent Breakfast Pizzas

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 cup mushroom, sliced
  • 8 ounces refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup basil pesto
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 large plum tomatoes, cut into 8 slices each
  • 3 medium green onions, sliced

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350.
  • 2 spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • 3 in skillet, cook bacon until crisp.
  • 4 drain on paper towels; crumble bacon and set aside.
  • 5 reserve 1 t. bacon drippings in skillet.
  • 6 add mushrooms to drippings; cook 4 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until lightly browned.
  • 7 unroll dough and separate into 4 rectangles; press each into 8x4 inch rectangle, firmly pressing perforations to seal.
  • 8 cut each in half crosswise, making 8 squares; place 1/2 inch apart on cookie sheet.
  • 9 spread 2 teaspoons cream cheese and about 1/2 t pesto on each square.
  • 10 top evenly with cooked mushrooms and 1/2 cup mozzarella.
  • 11 arrange tomato slices over cheese.
  • 12 sprinkle with onions, crumbles bacon and remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
  • 13 bake 13 to 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
  • 14 immediately remove from cookie sheet.
  • 15 serve warm.
