Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup shortening
• 1 cup brown sugar, packed
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 cup hot water
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 3 cups flour
• 1 (8 ounce) package chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup nuts

Recipe

• 1 preheat oven to 350.
• 2 combine soda & water.
• 3 in a different bowl, cream shortening and sugar.
• 4 mix in eggs, salt, and vanilla.
• 5 stir in soda water.
• 6 add flour.
• 7 mix in chocolate chips and nut meats.
• 8 scoop by tablespoon onto greased cookie sheet.
• 9 bake at 350 til brown, approximately 15 minutes.
