Chocolate Chip Cookies From My Childhood

Ingredients

• 2/3 cup shortening
• 2/3 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips
• 3 cups flour (if using self rising omit soda & salt)

Recipe

• 1 heat oven to 375°.
• 2 mix shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
• 3 blend in remaining ingredients.
• 4 drop dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.
• 5 bake 8-10 minutes or until brown.
