  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, well packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 vanilla bean
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°.
  • 2 in a medium sized mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with the sugars and corn syrup. beat at medium-high speed for 3 to 4 minutes until the butter is light and fluffy and much of the granular sugar is dissolved into the butter. add the egg and the scrapings from the inside of the ½ vanilla bean.
