Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 2/3 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
- 2 cream together shortening and butter.
- 3 add sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
- 4 blend in flour, baking soda, and salt.
- 5 stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
- 6 drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2-inches apart, onto baking sheet.
- 7 bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown.
- 8 do not over bake!
- 9 cool slightly before removing to wire cooling rack.
- 10 to keep cookies soft, store in an airtight container with a slice of bread!
