Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup salted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 (5 1/4 ounce) cup semisweet chocolate bars, coarsely chopped
- 1 (5 1/4 ounce) cup chocolate baking bar, coarsely chopped
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 300 degrees f.
- 2 in a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3 mix well with a wire whisk; set aside.
- 4 blend sugars in a large bowl using an electric mixer set at medium speed.
- 5 add butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
- 6 add eggs and vanilla; beat at medium speed until combined.
- 7 do not overmix!
- 8 add the flour mixture and chocolates, and blend at a low speed until just combined.
- 9 do not overmix!
- 10 drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2-inches apart.
- 11 bake 23 to 25 minutes.
- 12 transfer cookies immediately to a cool flat surface upon removal from oven.
