Caramel Pecan Treasures

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 30 caramels, halved and flattened
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 oz)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon shortening

Recipe

  • 1 in a mixing bowl cream butter and brown sugar.
  • 2 beat in vanilla.
  • 3 combine the flour and baking powder,gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  • 4 roll into 1 inch balls.
  • 5 place 2 inches apart onto baking sheet,flatten slightly.
  • 6 bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 7 remove to wire racks to cool.
  • 8 place one caramel on each cookie.
  • 9 melt the chocolate chips and shortening.
  • 10 drizzle over the cooled cookies.
  • 11 sprinkle with the pecans.
  • 12 let stand until firm.
