Chocolate Chip Oaties (cookies)

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup rolled oats (quick-cook or old-fashioned)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 beat butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • 3 beat in the egg, then milk and vanilla until well blended.
  • 4 add oats and mix, then add flour, cocoa and baking powder. mix until everything is well blended.
  • 5 stir in chocolate.
  • 6 line two baking sheets with parchment paper (or grease lightly).
  • 7 scoop out dough in large gobs (about 1 1/4-1 3/8 oz each) and flatten slightly with a fork (dip fork in flour to prevent sticking).
  • 8 bake for 15 minutes or until cookies are slightly risen and firm.
  • 9 let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
