Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie Bars

Ingredients
- 1 (19 1/2 ounce) package brownie mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°.
- 2 position a rack in the lower third of the oven.
- 3 spray the bottom only of a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- 4 in a bowl, mix the brownie mix and 1/2 cup melted butter with a wooden spoon until just blended and all dry ingredients are moistened.
- 5 press mixture into prepared pan.
- 6 bake 15 minutes; remove from oven (leave oven on).
- 7 while the crust bakes, whisk the eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, and 3 t melted butter in a bowl until well blended.
- 8 stir in pecans and chocolate chips; pour over hot crust.
- 9 bake 35-40 minutes until just set and topping is golden brown.
- 10 transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
- 11 cut into 24 large bars.
