Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie Bars

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (19 1/2 ounce) package brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°.
  • 2 position a rack in the lower third of the oven.
  • 3 spray the bottom only of a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 4 in a bowl, mix the brownie mix and 1/2 cup melted butter with a wooden spoon until just blended and all dry ingredients are moistened.
  • 5 press mixture into prepared pan.
  • 6 bake 15 minutes; remove from oven (leave oven on).
  • 7 while the crust bakes, whisk the eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, and 3 t melted butter in a bowl until well blended.
  • 8 stir in pecans and chocolate chips; pour over hot crust.
  • 9 bake 35-40 minutes until just set and topping is golden brown.
  • 10 transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
  • 11 cut into 24 large bars.
