Chocolate Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces german sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon flour

Recipe

  • 1 melt chocolate and margarine over very low heat.
  • 2 stir sugar into chocolate mixture; add eggs and vanilla stir until completely mixed. mix in flour until well blended. stir in nuts.
  • 3 spread in greased and floured 8-inch square pan.
  • 4 prepare topping. mix cream cheese, sugar, egg and flour until smooth.
  • 5 spoon over brownie batter mixture in pan, swirl with knife to make a "marble" pattern.
  • 6 bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out almost clean.
  • 7 cool in pan on a rack; cut cream cheese brownies into squares.
