Buttermilk Raisin Cookies (gift Mix In A Jar)

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
Recipe

- 2 wash and thoroughly dry a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar.
- 3 layer the ingredients in the jar as listed above starting with the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, brown sugar, raisins and then walnuts - make sure to press firmly with a flat bottomed object after each addition; make the layers as level as possible.

- 8 preheat oven to 375.
- 9 in a large bowl, blend the buttermilk, butter and egg.

- 11 drop the dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
- 12 bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are light brown in color.
