Chocolate Chip Angel Bars

Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup margarine
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans (i usually leave them out. they interupt the softness of the bar.)
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 300 degrees fareinheight. grease an 8 by 8 inch baking pan.
- 2 combine flour and baking soda in a medium bowl. mix well.
- 3 in a seperate large bowl, use a mixer to blend the sugar and butter. add the egg and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy.
- 4 then, add the flour mixture, chocolate chips, and pecans if you decide to use them. blend at a low speed until just mixed.
- 5 transfer the dough into the cooking pan and level it out. bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean, but the center is still soft.
- 6 cut into bars and enjoy!
