Chocolate Chip Angel Bars

Total Time: 42 mins Preparation Time: 7 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 14
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (i usually leave them out. they interupt the softness of the bar.)
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 300 degrees fareinheight. grease an 8 by 8 inch baking pan.
  • 2 combine flour and baking soda in a medium bowl. mix well.
  • 3 in a seperate large bowl, use a mixer to blend the sugar and butter. add the egg and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy.
  • 4 then, add the flour mixture, chocolate chips, and pecans if you decide to use them. blend at a low speed until just mixed.
  • 5 transfer the dough into the cooking pan and level it out. bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean, but the center is still soft.
  • 6 cut into bars and enjoy!
