Cognac Chocolat Bouchee (chocolate Bite)

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 10 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons corn oil
  • 5 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 9 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate
  • 6 ounces corn oil
  • 1 tablespoon cognac

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f
  • 2 butter and flour 9-inch square pan.
  • 3 sift together cocoa, flour, salt and cinnamon.
  • 4 melt butter, corn oil, and chocolate over a double boiler. place melted chocolate mixture in a mixing bowl. allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  • 5 add brown sugar and beat well. add eggs slowly. add cognac. slowly add dry ingredients, mixing until incorporated.
  • 6 pour into prepared pan. bake for 20-30 minutes.
  • 7 let brownies cool and cut into desired shapes.
  • 8 glaze:.
  • 9 melt chocolate, corn oil and cognac over a double boiler.
  • 10 place brownies on cake rack over pan to catch drippings. pour warm glaze over to coat.
  • 11 chill until glaze sets.
  • 12 refrigerate any remaining glaze in a covered bowl.
