Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 8 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup currants
- 1 1/2 cups milk
Recipe
- 1 combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. work in shortening as for pastry.
- 2 add currants.
- 3 moisten with milk, making a soft dough. knead 10 seconds.
- 4 pat out on a greased cookie sheet, to a thickness of a 1/2 inch.
- 5 preheat oven to 375°f and bake for 25 minutes.
- 6 serve warm with butter.
