Brotchen

Total Time: 1 hr 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 1/8 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 egg

Recipe

  • 1 put all ingredients into breadmaker, set on dough cycle.
  • 2 take out of breadmaker.
  • 3 punch down dough and divide into 12 parts.
  • 4 shape into oval rolls and place 3 apart on a greased and floured cookie sheet. cover and let rise until double in size. beat egg and 1 tsp water with a fork until frothy and brush on the rolls.
  • 5 bake in a preheated oven at 450 for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
