Brown Sugar Shortbread

Ingredients

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 1/4 cups flour
Recipe
- 1 in a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.
- 2 gradually stir in the flour.
- 3 turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 3 minutes.
- 4 pat into a 1/3" thick rectangle measuring 11" x8".
- 5 cut into 2" x1" strips.
- 6 place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- 7 prick with a fork.
- 8 bake at 300 degrees fahrenheit for 25 minutes or until bottom begins to brown.
- 9 cool for 5 minutes.
- 10 remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
