Brown Sugar Shortbread

Ingredients

  • Servings: 42
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 1/4 cups flour

Recipe

  • 1 in a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.
  • 2 gradually stir in the flour.
  • 3 turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 3 minutes.
  • 4 pat into a 1/3" thick rectangle measuring 11" x8".
  • 5 cut into 2" x1" strips.
  • 6 place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 7 prick with a fork.
  • 8 bake at 300 degrees fahrenheit for 25 minutes or until bottom begins to brown.
  • 9 cool for 5 minutes.
  • 10 remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
