Cheesy Onion Bread

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 1/2 cups vidalia onions, chopped
- 2 cups mayonnaise (not miracle whip)
- 2/3 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 loaf french bread or 1 loaf baguette, cut into 1 inch slices
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- 2 combine first 4 ingredients together until well blended.
- 3 take a slice of the bread and spread onion mixture thinly, (about 2 tablespoons), on one side of the bread. place on a cookie sheet, onion spread side up, on greased cookie sheet, so the slices won't stick.
- 4 continue to spread slices of bread until all of the onion mixture is used.
- 5 bake for 15-20 minutes on center rack, or until the tops of the slices are golden brown.
- 6 remove from oven and let the slices cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- 7 **note: yellow onions can be substituted for vidalia onions.
