Chocolate Almond Pie Ala Paula Deen

Ingredients

  • 16 marshmallows
  • 4 (1 1/2 ounce) milk chocolate candy bars with almonds, broken into pieces
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 (9 inch) oreo cookie pie crusts
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • chocolate curls (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in a large heatproof bowl set over pot of simmering water, combine marshmallows, candy bars and milk; cook, stirring until melted. remove from heat; cool.
  • 2 beat 1 cup cream until soft peaks form; fold into chocolate-marshmallow mix. pour into pie crust. refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. just before serving beat remaininng 1 1/2 c cream, sugar and almond extract until stiff peaks form. spread over pie. if desired, garnish with chocolate curls.
