Chocolate Cherry Kisses

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons marachino cherry liquid, halved
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherry
  • granulated sugar
  • 48 chocolate hershey chocolate kisses

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325. beat butter about 30 seconds, add powdered sugar and salt; beat until combined. beat in 2 teaspoons cherry liquid and almond extract. beat in flour. stir in cherries. shape dough into 1 inches balls. place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. dip a glass into the cherry liquid, then into granulated sugar and flatten the cookie. bake about 14 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. if desired, press a chocolate kiss onto the top of each cookie. cool on wire rack.
