Chocolate Cherry Kisses

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons marachino cherry liquid, halved
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherry
- granulated sugar
- 48 chocolate hershey chocolate kisses
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 325. beat butter about 30 seconds, add powdered sugar and salt; beat until combined. beat in 2 teaspoons cherry liquid and almond extract. beat in flour. stir in cherries. shape dough into 1 inches balls. place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. dip a glass into the cherry liquid, then into granulated sugar and flatten the cookie. bake about 14 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. if desired, press a chocolate kiss onto the top of each cookie. cool on wire rack.
