Chocolate-glazed Peppermint Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 (18 ounce) package refrigerated sugar cookie dough, pillsbury, well chilled
- 3 tablespoons peppermint candies, the hard candies, finely crushed
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 teaspoons shortening
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 350 degrees. cut cookie dough into 1/4-inch slices. place slices 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon peppermint candy in center of each slice.
- 2 bake for 7 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. cool 15 minutes or until completely cooled.
- 3 in small saucepan, melt chocolate chips and shortening over low heat, stirring constantly. drizzle glaze over cooled cookies. let stand until set.
