Chocolate Wafers

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter, softened (no substitutions)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 in a bowl, cream butter and sugars, add milk and egg.
  • 2 mix well.
  • 3 combine dry ingredients in separate bowl, and gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  • 4 mix well.
  • 5 cover and let chill until firm, or about two hours.
  • 6 rolled chilled dough on a floured surface until about 1/8 inch thick.
  • 7 cut with a 1 1/2 cookie cutter.
  • 8 place 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet.
  • 9 bake at 375° for 5- 6 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
