Christmas Sour Cream Cutouts

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 4 cups flour (this can vary a bit. it should be dry enough to roll out and not be messy, but moist enough not to b)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
- 2 cream together the shortening and the sugar until light and fluffy using whisk or a mixer.
- 3 add in the eggs, vanilla and sour cream. mix until well combined.
- 4 add in the dry ingredients, adding the flour bit by bit until the dough comes together but is not crumbly.
- 5 chill for at least one hour, but preferably overnight.
- 6 bake 8-10 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet (though you could line with parchment if you wanted to.) bake until light golden brown.
- 7 when cooled, ice if desired.
