Audrey's Oatmeal Crisps

Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Recipe
- 1 cream shortening& sugars; add eggs& vanilla, beat well.
- 2 add dry ingredients, oats& nuts, mixing well.
- 3 form dough into 3 squared-off logs, wrap in aluminum foil& chill well (about 2 hours).
- 4 when ready to bake, preheat oven to 350f.
- 5 cut dough into 1/4" slices, place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets& bake 15 minutes.
- 6 remove cookies to wire rack to cool completely.
