Candy Cane Crisps

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, unsifted
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup peppermint candy, crushed and divided
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for rolling
Recipe
- 1 oven 325.
- 2 beat together butter and powdered sugar until creamy.
- 3 mix in vanilla extract.
- 4 add flour, oats and salt.
- 5 combine well.
- 6 stir in 1/4 cup crushed candy canes.
- 7 roll rounded teaspoonfuls of the dough in the 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
- 8 place balls about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.
- 9 flatten with a fork in a criss-cross pattern and sprinkle cookies with about 1/4 tsp of remaining crushed candy canes.
- 10 bake at 325 for 18-20 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are slightly brown.
- 11 let cookies cool on the pan for about 2 minutes, and then transfer to a rack to cool.
