Chinese Chew

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 lb dates, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • confectioners' sugar, to taste

Recipe

  • 1 sift flour, baking powder, and salt twice.
  • 2 add oher ingredients and mix well together.
  • 3 bake in a shallow greased tin for 30 minutes at 375 deg f.
  • 4 when cooked, sprinkle well with icing sugar.
  • 5 cut into fingers when cool.
