Chocolate Mint Brownies

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (22 1/2 ounce) box reduced-fat brownie mix
  • 3/4 teaspoon peppermint extract, divided
  • 3 tablespoons reduced-fat cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons margarine, melted divided
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 5 -6 drops green food coloring
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon water

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350 degrees.coat a 13 by 9 by 2 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 2 prepare the brownie mix according to package directions,adding 1/4 teaspoon of the peppermint extract. pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • 3 bake the mix according to the package directions. do not overbake.
  • 4 remove from the oven & cool completly to room temperature.
  • 5 in a mixing bowl,beat together the cream cheese, 1 tablespoon margarine, the confectioners' sugar & 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract until smooth. add the food coloring whil mixing.spread on the baked brownie layer.
  • 6 in a small bowlo, mix together the remaining 2 tablespoons margarine, cocoa & water.
  • 7 spread the mixture carefully over the cream cheese layer & cool. cut into squares.
