Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Total Time: 21 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 11 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 in a large bowl beat together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 3 add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.
  • 4 in a separate bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture while stirring.

  • 6 stir in oats and nuts until combined. (batter will be thick and stiff).
  • 7 drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 8 bake 11 to 12 minutes or until set; cookies will be slightly moist in the center. try not to overbake. cool 1 minute on cookie sheet and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
