Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 in a large bowl beat together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3 add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.
- 4 in a separate bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture while stirring.
- 5 do not over mix.
- 6 stir in oats and nuts until combined. (batter will be thick and stiff).
- 7 drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- 8 bake 11 to 12 minutes or until set; cookies will be slightly moist in the center. try not to overbake. cool 1 minute on cookie sheet and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
