Chocolate Sheath Cake

Ingredients

- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 for cake: mix flour and sugar together in a large mixing bowl.
- 2 in saucepan mix water, cocoa, salt, and butter.
- 3 bring to a boil.
- 4 pour over flour and sugar.
- 5 add buttermilk, eggs, soda, and vanilla.
- 6 mix until blended.
- 7 pour into large greased cookie sheet.
- 8 bake in 375° oven for 20 minutes.
- 9 for icing: while cake is cooking bring butter, cocoa, and milk to a boil in a small saucepan.
- 10 remove from heat; add sugar& vanilla.
- 11 spread on hot out of the oven cake.
